Only the strong mature tree are holding on to their leaves now. This oak in Saumarez Park really caught my eye.

Another shot of the golden tree in Saumarez Park. I wanted a little more contrast but it needed a fairly clear sky toward dusk.

Saw a few of these chicks around the pond at Saumarez park this afternoon. What amazed me more is the amount of ducks kicking around this year!

The Saumarez Park clan out in force again. I think I counted about 15 ducklings in total.

A juvenile Cormorant sat, seemingly unfazed, on the edge of the pond in Saumarez Park. I was able to get extremely close to this one for some reason, even the screaming kids on bikes didn’t bother it. Great for me as it meant I could creep up and get as close as I could. I love the blue eyes in these birds.

The time has come to start hunting down the golden autumn leaves. Surprised there’s any left after last nights gales!

Quick scout around the Lihou headland at lunch. Waiting patiently for the wildflowers to appear for some optimistic coastal shots.

More and more ducklings appearing across the island which is always a pleasure to see. There were a few in Saumarez Park but I fear the gulls have had a few over the last few days.

Making use of all the wildflowers before they all get burnt and scorched to a crisp in the summer heat.

The remains of the Japanese house that once stood here. The house was dismantled in Japan and shipped to Guernsey on a steamboat in the late 1800’s.

Saumarez Park gained itself an extra pond over the last few months. Spoiled for choice if you’re a duck!
