As the skies greyed over, my mind was shouting black and white. Sketchy waves nearly had me a few times and the sea spray wrote off 8most of the images!

The sky cleared leaving nice hazy glow behind. Even a hint of a rainbow from the rain clouds the passed over.

High tides make life difficult to find a decent composition around the coast but there’s always something to be found if you look hard enough. The colourful sky does help to draw you in.

Crazy to think that only 11 days ago the temperature was peaking at 30°C, now the arctic winds make it feel like its about to snow. Right now its warmer in the sea than outside but there’s no chance you’ll get me out it this!

One of those in between places that I rarely visit with plenty of potential in different conditions.

I’m genuinely gutted we couldn’t celebrate properly today, not only for Liberation Day but just being with all our mates and letting the kids mingle and have fun. On the plus side, I wasn’t drunk so I could shoot out and grab some photographs to make up for it.

Feeling frustrated, I literally walked away minute before this. You can imagine the mad dash back to set up again and check every setting.

Violent 10-12 ft swell coming on off the west coast this morning. Got as close as I could with a wide lens without putting myself at risk. Even with a tripod and fairly high iso the camera shake was unavoidable.

Always on the lookout for a nice green algae covered rock. The rocks got covered by the tide pretty quick so I had to get low and just gamble with the waves.

In memory of Judith Kerr, author of one my favourite childhood books ‘Mog’ and sadly my mum and dad’s fourth cat Bubbles who went to cat heaven last night. Ironically Mogs final story sees him also pass away.

Some days you just have to go with your instincts and force yourself to make something out of nothing. Today I was quite lucky with the weather but the tides had taken control over any other interest on the beach.
