It’s amazing how many people wander past here on their way to work and admire the tree. It even sparks conversation, mostly along the lines of how beautiful the tree looks in the morning light!

There’s a new Heron in town, more specifically, Candie Gardens. I know it’s a different visitor because one, it freaks out whenever anyone gets close and hides in trees and two, its got both eyes. The older Heron’s left eye was missing.

Now all but a few leaves have turned a vibrant yellow, I though it deserved another shot.

The stunning Gingko tree in Candie Gardens. I wanted to catch it before all the leaves fall off with some strong morning sun to accentuate the colours.

The sun just keeps on shining at the moment. Whilst I love being out on days like this, it’s extremely limiting for dramatic scenic images. The good thing is it challenges you to explore new angles at the same time experimenting with the strong, intense light.

With the winds picking up again, this was probably my last chance to grab a snap of this tree in all (of half) of it’s seasonal beauty.

The golden Ginkgo tree is certainly the centre piece of the gardens at the moment. A little sun trap this afternoon with the suns welcome return!

Now an annual tradition on New Years Eve and the end of my 5th 365 project. 1826 days and the drive is still there every day…
Happy New Year everybody!

The stunning transformation of the Gingko tree in Candie Gardens. I’m no tree expert but this one has to be a few hundred years old.

As always, so many photos to choose from but this one was my favourite, taken under the tree in Candie Gardens. Here’s to a wonderful wife and amazing mother!

This heron really doesn’t care about people, he’s more interested in catching every last fish in the pond. It’s easy to find and photograph, the personal challenge is trying to capture him in the best possible light. This was about 09:30 and apart from a few blown out feathers, I think I’m finally happy and can let this one go.

The resident fish thief making my life a little too easy in the rain. I almost wanted him to fly off so it felt like a challenge!
