I’ve cycled past these cows a few times over the last couple weeks and was determined to grab a photo before they move on somewhere else. Almost had them all lined up!

Took myself on a quick tour of the new pumpkin farm at Les Hechet. I have to give it to them, they have done a fantastic job with all the pumpkins and the entire area. I won’t give away too much but there’s a small number of calves and pigs to see too! Spread the world and help them make it a massive success, which I’m sure it will be.

Just some cows in a field. Looked like there was over a hundred just mooching around, enjoying the sunshine!

A stunning morning on L’Ancresse Common. The Conservation Herd dominating large chunk of land but I can’t think of a more uniquely Guernsey scene than this.

In a field! Simple sky, simple image. That’s all the went through my head. The rest was a scouting mission which will be on the cards in the coming months.

Deep in the rural heart of St Peters you can escape from the world in the quiet country lanes and admire the stunning Guernsey cows along the way.

Another random turn into the lanes around St Saviour. Spotted this bull who was quickly joined by the heifers although a few turned their noses up at me.

Most of us take these cows for granted but they’re actually quite rare on a global scale. I’ve tried milk throughout Europe and the USA and no country comes close to producing a finer milk than Guernsey. As soon as I’ve typed this I’m heading to the fridge to grab a nice ice cold glass of milk.

La Société Guernesiaise Conservation Herd sunning themselves up in the misty morning L’Ancresse sunshine.

Stopped off at a farm near my work on the way home this evening (with permission). All the 40 odd cows were desperate for attention but only one got an attempt at a head scratch.

The finest pedigree herd on the island. Always enjoy photographing cows, there’s something therapeutic about them.

As far as fields go, how about this for a 5 star hillside view across the west coast.

A display of Guernsey’s finest heifers (and other farm animals) at the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Show. I try to get to this event every year to show my support and I love our local cows!

Just because I like cows. They’re like the goldfish of the countryside, basic animals but nice to look at and talk to :)

Decided to take the long way home to enjoy the peaceful rural lanes and this little calf was creeping under the electric fence into the road. Mum quickly ushered her back in to the field.
