It had to be done! I wanted Alana to come too for a laugh but she wanted to chill at home.

Took a drive in search of some large clusters of sunflowers. Came back with a shot a Golden Guernsey goat.

That thin orange strip on the horizon is a guaranteed amazing sky in the morning. See that, get out and make sure you are ready!

Another year, another pumpkin portrait with the kids. I’m not sure how much longer they’ll play ball with this tradition but I did offer a small bribe beforehand. I think Finley would actually enjoy getting stuck in on a farm though, Alana I’m not so sure about.

Took myself on a quick tour of the new pumpkin farm at Les Hechet. I have to give it to them, they have done a fantastic job with all the pumpkins and the entire area. I won’t give away too much but there’s a small number of calves and pigs to see too! Spread the world and help them make it a massive success, which I’m sure it will be.

Put a bit of brightness in your day. Go see some pigs.

Most of us take these cows for granted but they’re actually quite rare on a global scale. I’ve tried milk throughout Europe and the USA and no country comes close to producing a finer milk than Guernsey. As soon as I’ve typed this I’m heading to the fridge to grab a nice ice cold glass of milk.

Stopped off at a farm near my work on the way home this evening (with permission). All the 40 odd cows were desperate for attention but only one got an attempt at a head scratch.

Mid January, its wet, windy and pretty dull. Sheltered in the rural lanes you can always find some of Guernsey’s finest goats.

Creative use of the hay bales this Christmas.

The finest pedigree herd on the island. Always enjoy photographing cows, there’s something therapeutic about them.

As I get older, having chickens as pets suddenly seems that much more appealing.

An unlikely friendship but in this day and age, anything goes!

A few young calves roaming the woodland at the bottom of Talbot Valley.

Brilliant afternoon at The Accidental Zoo. All the animals you love and the smaller ones you might not be so keen on…Tarantulas!
25.01.19
If you think about it, Guernsey is just like one big giant farmyard. Most of the animals are visible from the road and don’t cost anything to see but the challenge is actually finding them.
11.01.19
Mini tour of Le Variouf Farm, tucked away in the quiet country lanes in the Forest. Hundreds of cows in the sheds and a few curious heifers destined to produce the worlds finest milk!

The older i get, the more I like the sound of running my own farm. I’m sure my kids would love it but Danni not so much.

Following on from yesterday’s theme, it seems there’s some stiff competition between the farmers again this year. The turkey still gets my vote but this is a great us of materials! If you spot any more around the island, give me a shout.
