The entire north coast and beaches of Herm all to myself to watch the sunrise. What an amazing piece of paradise we have.

The final burst of light before the sun dipped below the clouds behind me. I loved the contrast between the dunes, the grasses and the darkening sky.

Really spoilt for choice with shots today. Port Soif had some amazing swell this morning, rainbows at lunch and this stunning golden light after work. The wind was blowing at least 45-50mph, sand blowing in my face (a tripod was out of the question) and even had sand between my teeth. I like to make things hard for myself but the rewards are so worth the battles.

One of my favourite spots in Herm, above Mouisonniere Beach, looking towards Alderney Point. There just something about the vast open common and stunning views out to sea that takes you away from everything.

Quick trip to Port Soif on the way home and mad dash to keep dry!

As the summer crowds slowly drift away, a brief moment of gorgeous low autumn light shines though as the rain passes overhead.

Bracing the full force of storm Freya approaching from the Atlantic. This was was a case of sheltering from the wind and waiting for the sun to burst through the clouds. The sand blowing up the dunes was getting everywhere, but I have faith in the Canon weatherproofing!

Stunning light down on Port Soif this afternoon. Bitterly cold wind and sand blasting up the dunes didn’t make it easy but persistence eventually paid off.
