Cool little birds. They hang around the fishing boats searching for scraps of seafood to munch on. I think someone told me mot of them migrate to Iceland in the summer.

Last day of November and I thin this wasp was on the edge, about to give up for the winter.

Another random day of shooting anything under my nose. This quirky leaf caught my eye with its funky symmetry and pink ends.

Little bit stuck for ideas today so out came the good old macro adapters to save the day!
Looks kind of like fireworks.

Exploring the ground of the old Cart Tea Rooms and this little fella landed within arms reach of me, I assume hoping for some food.

Still a fair few butterflies around in the grasses. I love the eyes on these.

In search of something colourful the light on these leaves caught my eye along with the mix of blues, greens and purples.

I’ve been trying to track down a dragonfly for weeks and today there were five cycling overhead. Luckily this one decided to take a break for me to sneak up.

Feeling a lack of inspiration today so this hoverfly had to do!

My biggest fear is being stranded at sea in a storm, which terrifies me. Spiders, I don’t have a problem with but I know more than enough people who would run across lava to get away from them.
It’s about to get a lot busier on the ground as the autumn crops in!

Every year I’ve seen posts of Swallowtail sightings but I haven’t seen one in over 7 years in France. Today the opportunity came up to see one, albeit in caterpillar form. Still, these are stunning (and rare) butterflies in Guernsey.

The sun was hiding for most of the day so I went on a mission to find a sunflower. I found hundreds in the end. Added little cinematic twist to the edit to spice things up a bit!

They eat poop and in reality, they are a pain in arse but when you look at the colours it’s easy to seem past that and appreciate how cool nature can be.

The most common garden bird in the UK, but this one was playing around with it’s mates next to the beach. Just managed to sneak close enough to get a shot through a gap.

Once upon a time, I assumed there were honey bees and bumble bee bees. Then you realise that there’s actually over 250 different species of bees! That’s a a lot of bees.

Saw a few of these chicks around the pond at Saumarez park this afternoon. What amazed me more is the amount of ducks kicking around this year!

One of favourite butterflies, the Common Blue. The males have an amazing bright blue upper wing but the females have a darker wing although further north in the UK, the bluer they are apparently!

Another day, another stunning butterfly. Easy pickings in the amazing memorial garden at Les Cotils. Honestly, go check it out.

A frustrating day in more ways than one. Stuck to macro to save my sanity, plenty of the Speckled Browns around.
22.06.22
Teeny tiny striped red and black shield bug sunning itself up on a leaf. Never seen one like this before.
