Had to make a very quick decision when I saw the rain clouds coming in. just caught the end of this rainbow then took a drive to the west to watch a pretty epic sunset.

Not a bad way to start off the Winter season. Pretty damn cold first thing thought!

I didn’t have the motivation to venture far from home this morning so it’s another classic Bordeaux scene.

Pulled up at Bordeaux to check out the stunning light in the channel and spotted this orange dingy. I stood my ground for 45 minutes with a feeling the clouds would catch some amazing colours.

Absolutely shocking Monday. Needed an easy target before the sun disappeared! Where else but Bordeaux.

Beautiful rain curtain drifting across the channel this morning. A feint rainbow did start to appear behind but it never quite popped.
A classic jumping spot at high tide for us Guern’s, Tommy Rock!

I tried my best not to head down here again but when I saw how calm and misty the sea was I just had to go for it.

Left a very small window to find somewhere and the tides weren't great but Bordeaux is always a good shout for a last minute rush.

Once in a while you get rewarded for those early mornings. Bordeaux under a blanket of rain with the sun trying to push through, giving an amazing sky.

Took the long way home to find a ‘classic Guernsey’ image. Bordeaux always has some interesting fishing boats and these beauties have had a fresh lick of paint and the flag was still flying proud from Liberation Day.

From glorious sunshine for a whole week to a complete u-turn of icy cold arctic winds and wintry showers. This was a few minutes before the hail hit and it was painful. I’d forgotten how much it hurts being shot in the face with thousands of hail stones!
I also found loads of newborn lambs today so I’ll head back and grab some shots tomorrow.

Believe it or not, there is some scientific understanding to the rhyme, “Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning”!
A quote from he Met Office - "Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning" means a red sky appears due to the high-pressure weather system having already moved east meaning the good weather has passed, most likely making way for a wet and windy low-pressure system.”

Technically, the ‘Golden Hour’ and normally the hour after sunrise but this morning offered so many options beforehand and the sky just kept on getting better. I was in my element, a fun ‘happy’ hour with the camera!

I always remember mid August school summer holidays being non stop blue skies, down the beach with mates and cycling around without a care in the world. Summer seems to have faded away in the blink of an eye this year and there’s no signs of an imminent heatwave returning this year. Other than this bust of sun, it’s been another grey and slightly moist one.

Along with about 8 other lambs, the little one was only born yesterday. I got talking to the owner who said more were on the way. You can see them from the road driving inland from Bordeaux.

Barely enough time to open my eyes this morning before hitting the road to watch the day unfold. Couldn’t let this one go unseen.
