The fascinating Underground Hospital is open again. Always a good shout for a rainy day shot and a chance to experiment with colours.

Icy breeze up here this morning and the clear sky proved difficult to work with and this is one of the last shots I took before heading home.

After nearly two long years, the Underground Hospital has finally reopened it’s doors. Always a good photo opportunity down here.

Part of the submerged German trenches below the Pleinmont headland. It still amazes me how such an incredible network of tunnels and trenches were build in such a small amount of time.

May the fourth be with you! We may not be battling the Infiltrator in a faraway galaxy but there was once, 76 years ago, a very real battle going on which left a permanent mark on the island.

Being a tourist, exploring the eerie World War II german trenches surround the gun emplacement at Pleinmont. With the winds howling overhead, it gave me a little insight into what these soldiers endured, especially during the winter.
Next time you feel the need to moan about something, imagine fighting a war, not knowing if you’ll ever see your family again.

Uninspiring day so I took the easy option with a little peace and quiet.

Constant rain really threw me off today. One of the best indoor play areas for enthusiastic creative minds is the underground hospital. It’s almost impossible to come out without a single shot!

75 years have past but the reminders of our islands darker times are still present.

Sunny days are overrated. This is the kind of weather I crave! This is a great location to observe and capture passing rain storms with a view across the whole south west of the island.
