Tried to find something little different this year at the North Show. All th stunt acts were great but I needed a challenge. Spotted this lady (who is a Guiness record holder) bring out some amazing bubbles.

Early morning on the North of Herm, just before the heavens opened! Such an extreme change from the 30 degree heatwave a few days ago!

With a 7 year old on my shoulders and little to no areas to focus on it was a case of relying on the workhorse to instantly focus on the light source and constantly change settings to freeze the fireworks.

Last day of September started in spectacular fashion. In the 6 (nearly 7) years I’ve been doing this, 2021 has been pretty poor for these kind of skies. I still wake up an hour before sunrise every day, check outside and you can normally gauge how it’s going to pan out. The colour started to pick up about 45 minutes before sunrise so it just a matter of patiently waiting for something to happen.

I was 36 years old when I found out there was an auction at the end of the North Show. Such a good laugh and some great award winning local produce up for grabs for next to nothing. Got myself the finest selection of carrots and a super sizes marrow. This guy was a hero.

Spend way too much time relaxing today and the motivation was well gone by the time I went out. The rain was lingering overhead and all I wanted to do was just veg on the sofa.

No time to get out early before work at the moment so the best I can do is hover round the bedroom windows like a dog waiting for its owner to return home. An eyesore on the skyline but I try to find beauty around it.

This year I’ve found myself shooting more things I see on a daily basis rather than seeking out what I ‘want’ to see. The end results do not necessary work nor do they earn a place in my portfolio but if I see something when I’m out, I shoot it rather than think about it. It’s also a challenge for me to see the areas around Guernsey a little differently.
This is from near the Vale Castle down towards the Bridge Clock Tower with the stunning evening hazy light.

First time this year I’ve had to scrape ice off my windscreen but I love these cold icy mornings.
