This was a strategical and last minute rainbow hunt mission. In eight years you get a solid understanding of how the weather works and plan it right, you can get what you want. The thrill of the chase!

Massive rain storm heading in quicker than I expected it. Starting to feel proper wintry in the wind.

I found it really hard to find a boat with any foreground interest until I was about to leave, the sun came out and the clouds properly lit up. Love the little mounds of sand.

Undefeated champions of the Sand Sculpture class and to top it off, awarded the brand new Mitch Sneddon trophy for best sand castle.

Still waiting for that 2022 ultimate sunrise! These clouds thinned out pretty quickly as I left home so didn't quite live up to expectations but hopefully with the warmer weather comes some epic storm clouds.

Sheltered from the wind with my car boot open, the 50mph winds swiftly carried the rain over the bay and out towards the channel. Unfortunately I was a few minutes too late to get some decent light.

I’m not 100% sure what the purpose or history of the boulders are but it did occur to me that they are aligned to true north.

Battling a massive hangover today and the weather didn’t really bring out any creative juices!

An experience in itself, the etherial light was epic to see but it also presents it’s own challenges when editing. The colours were so intense, picking the right white balance and tones was a ball right ache. It’s one of those where you had to see and be in it to really believe it.

It’s hard to put into words how beautiful it was this morning. Almost completely flat seas as far as the eye can see. This is one of those mornings I’ll remember for a long time.

Spend way too much time relaxing today and the motivation was well gone by the time I went out. The rain was lingering overhead and all I wanted to do was just veg on the sofa.

Seriously lacking motivation today. One of those days where you know there’s so much that needs to be done you just want to hide away and hope it sorts itself out. Didn’t happen!
Literally parked the car up at Rousse, jumped out, Snapped this and spent about 10 minutes editing.
Onwards and upwards!

There’s something about Rousse that draws me back throughout the year. I’ve had a vision for an image (other that the same old landscape shots I get sucked into) but never found the right focal length, position or light to get it right. Today, I found my vision.
It needed to be layered. Foreground, middle and background with features of the bays in each. I’m happy with this and I can finally let it go!

Guernsey…The little island that just keeps on giving!
23.02.21
I tried to find one word to sum up how it felt to be out this morning, it truly was mesmerizing. This is why I cant put down the camera, even after all these years!
19.01.21
Last push to grab a shot on the way home. One of those days where I struggled to even find the energy to grab the camera out the bag. Rousse fishing store with a torch inside and another smaller uplight on the metal cladding.
17.08.20
It had potential and it didn’t disappoint. This one certainly turned a few heads this evening.
11.08.20
This morning was just something else. Warm hazy sunshine and hardly a breath of wind. I can’t remember the last two week holiday I’ve had at home when it’s been this hot for so long!
26.07.20
Sunday lie in’s don’t happen for me anymore. Simple reason being I’d rather be outdoors. I should have left the house 30 minutes earlier to catch the stunning pink clouds but the snooze button got the better of me.
02.07.20
A perfectly timed and picturesque rain storm as the sun rises over L’Ancresse in the distance. The umbrella was a life saver for this one!
