Now it’s December I can get some festive shots on the go.

As pricy as it is living here, I do love our town. Its full of colour and actually, with the right group of mates, good food and some good beer, you can have an amazing night out in town.
Feels like home!

It’s not until you study the town skyline closely that you realise just how many flats and houses there are, crammed into every little corner. Still, it also shows the unique character of the areas.

You can’t take them anywhere these days without making a TikTok video of something!
The fireworks were good though.

Another damp gloomy day on the rock, pushing the limits of my patience and inspiration!

As the day turned into night, the winds dropped and the mist started to form. I spotted loads of opportunities with the streetlights but this was what I had in my mind.

Today was an absolute write off. Had a nice low tide walk at lunch but I needed a quick ‘grab shot’ on the way home. The sound of the two pubs made it feel quite festive.

Town Church from Market Square on a chilly autumn night. For those that didn’t know, the church hold the record for the closest pub to a church in the British Isles!

With a 7 year old on my shoulders and little to no areas to focus on it was a case of relying on the workhorse to instantly focus on the light source and constantly change settings to freeze the fireworks.

13 hours into the night and 30 minutes before sunrise. Always loved this spot and will no doubt revisit here many more times.

One I’ve done before but I’ve always liked the blue lights against the historic facade of the building.

It may not be a dazzling metropolis but it’s uniquely Guernsey and it was looking picture perfect on the way past this evening.
19.01.21
Last push to grab a shot on the way home. One of those days where I struggled to even find the energy to grab the camera out the bag. Rousse fishing store with a torch inside and another smaller uplight on the metal cladding.

Once again, forced into the night with a lack of inspiration. The power station is only used now as backup to meet demand in the winter months and it’s in these peak hours that the generators are running which in turn is the only time they produce the steam which for me helped to balance this shot out.

First day back at work and relentless rain really doesn’t make things easy when you just want a nice simple shot. After all these years, one thing that I have come to terms with is that not every day will be your best shot but, things can only get better!
22.12.20
The shortest day has passed but the nights are still long. It’s cold and wet but if you look around closely, there’s daffodils starting to appear. Spring will be here before you know it but for now, enjoy the cosy nights in front of the TV and Christmas with the people you love.

The rain got the better of me today. Sheltered in this alley between Contree Mansell and Mansell Street, it was the only shot I had the enthusiasm for. Interestingly though, these buildings date back the the mid 1600’s so there must be some interesting stories from around here. You can only wander!

The beautifully restored Catherine Best Mill in St Martin. I can only imagine how amazing the views are from inside the dome!
