I’d set up on the pier before the hail started hammering down. Luckily the store has a great sheltered vantage point to watch the weather do it’s thing.

As pretty as it was, I had to use my body as a windshield up here this morning. Time to bring the thermals back out I think.

Stuck for ideas this morning so it seemed like a good time to revisit the fishing store at Saints Harbour. The red bricks compliment the morning sun perfectly, giving a warm orange glow inside.

The industrial north, one of the bigger ‘local centres’ that desperately needs redeveloping but always has the conveniences you need. Its a working harbour that has changed very little in my lifetime and no doubt won’t change much more in the near future.

After a long summer of getting up stupidly early, it’s nice to be able to set the alarm at a reasonable time. It’s been a while since a there was a sky like this in the morning!

Looking out over St Peter Port and beyond from Minot Plateau car park, which I believe used to be a cemetery for St Barnabus church.

Late morning adventures, between the fog, Saints Bay was like a dream. The water was so clear and not a single wave breaking, the sun was pumping out some warm rays and the sound of the birds topped it off. One of those special Guernsey moments that stick with you.

There was only really one place we had to be when you know it’s going to hit 30°. 08:30 milk boat over, 6 hours on Shell Beach, home by 4:30 followed by a swim in Grandpa’s pool. Finally a nice jacuzzi to top it off!

Exhaust details from Sarnia, a tug boat moored in St Sampson harbour. Nothing else seemed to be floating my boat today!

Long exposure can be extremely rewarding sometimes. With the right amount of cloud cover and wind speed you can create some streaky effects in the sky.

Bordeaux Harbour with an incoming shower slowly creeping in. That rainbow got pretty big and stuck around for nearly half an hour.

Holidays will be hard to come by this year so the next best thing is to be a tourist in your own area. Le Gouffre has some stunning scenery and walks, even better is the summer sunshine!

Unless it’s pissing down with rain, I get up every day an hour before sunrise to hopefully see what I don’t want to miss. Some days are well worth it and even if it’s not, try again another day.

Watching the fog roll in from the south, hoping the light would burst through. Didn’t happen but it was (and always is) so peaceful down here. Even spotted a seal pop it’s head up a few times.
