Trying my luck for another rainbow shot over Fort Grey. It's always hit and miss but all the ingredients were there it’s just pot luck if the sun breaks though in time to give a full on vibrant bow.

High tides make life difficult to find a decent composition around the coast but there’s always something to be found if you look hard enough. The colourful sky does help to draw you in.

Tried to chase the end of a rainbow but the pot of gold was long by the time I got here.

I found this view point last year by accident on one of my many tours of the parishes. There’s a bench to the side of the road where you can sit and take in the views.

Another stormy day, another rainbow hunt complete. The combo of sun, cloud and rain was perfect, it was just a case of waiting it out which luckily came sooner than I expected.

After the last few days this seemed pretty good. The warm sun on my back and hardly any wind made it quite pleasant. I did hope for another rainbow but the rain was too far away.

Plan A was a complete failure this morning, mostly due to the clouds being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This was Plan B. Plan A will have to wait for the tides in a few weeks. Shame the trees have started to restrict the view. I remember years ago you had a full panoramic view to the Town Church!

Fort Houmet bathed in gorgeous evening light on the west coast this evening. Love a good Guernsey spring vibe.

The west side of what was once the barracks, built in fear of a French invasion in the mid 1800’s.

Possibly breaking my brain with so many blown out highlights but the view was just too good.

That Friday feeling, not giving a shit what’s going on, just enjoying the sunshine and looking forward to some snow (hopefully).

Tactical Gun Emplacement on the edge of the Fort Houmet headland. Love the low sun this time of year, the light hovers above the horizon for at least a few hour a day.

Amazing start to September. Actually just spent most of my lunch on the rocks behind the fort, soaking up the sun and watching the boats on the horizon.

Making use of all the wildflowers before they all get burnt and scorched to a crisp in the summer heat.

Makes you wander how many German soldiers stood in this same spot and just stepped off guard for a moment to admire the views. I’m already visualizing a hot summer evening with some proper fat sausages on the bbq! Summer…coming soon.
