The time felt right to return for the autumn moods.

In the National Trust grounds of Le Moulin de Bas, set back from the now working water wheel, the geese were guarding their patch. Lots of ducklings running around too! It felt like a scene from an old ladybird book, back in the day.

I official call Spring! There were six of these little dudes having a great time riding the stream. I stayed in one spot for about 15 minutes and they came right up to the puddle in front of me.

Nestled deep in the valley, there’s one tree which stands out from the rest every year. Although the light wasn’t great, the tree’s showing a full spectrum of autumnal colours. The brown dead leaves at the top, yellows in the midde and lower leaves still holding onto their summer greens.

A tiny glimmer of sunlight breaking through the clouds which really helped lift the mood of this image.

After months of ongoing restoration , the water wheel is finally back up and running. Up until about 6 years ago, I only had vague memories of this place from my childhood, but now I visit a few times a year for a few snaps.

Always loved this quaint little cottage at the foot of Petit Bot. Seeing the smoke from the chimney just made it even more inviting on a murky day like today.

Noticed a few pockets of mist hovering over some streams on the way to work which reminded me of this stream running through Les Vauxbelets valley. Would have been nice with a touch of frost on the grass but still a lovely calm setting.

25 years on from the leading role in Babe, pig is finally settled in the Fauxquets Valley campsite.

Continuing with the golden tree theme, this tree is a slightly hidden gem on the way down to Fermain Bay.

Desperately trying to avoid the ‘norm’, cruising down Talbot Valley, the light shining through the trees caught my eye. Quick u-turn to grab what I could. It looked better in my head though.

I walked past here a few weeks ago and knew I had to return. High above Talbot Valley, the wheat fields almost give a continental feel to the Guernsey countryside.

The sleepy National Trust land at the bottom of Quanteraine Valley, slowly waking up for spring.

Talbot Valley in a cool blue style. Artistic licence applied!

The peaceful and serene Les Vauxbelet valley in the heart of St Andrew. The grasses and leaves were frozen under the clear night skies leaving a beautiful carpet of ice.

High on the cliff paths looking down into Petit Bot valley.

Autumn colours in Fermain Valley. Just over a year I’ve waited to re-shoot this spot. Just loved the way the sunlight falls into the valley and backlights the vibrant golden leaves on the tree.

Those warm beach days are now a distant memory but on the plus side only 46 sleeps and the days start getting longer again!

Tucked away in the quiet Quanteraine Valley, a small stream runs through the woodland eventually feeding the waterwheel in the 16th century farm complex of Le Moulin de Quanteraine.
