FREEDOM

22.03.21

There’s something about Rousse that draws me back throughout the year. I’ve had a vision for an image (other that the same old landscape shots I get sucked into) but never found the right focal length, position or light to get it right. Today, I found my vision.

It needed to be layered. Foreground, middle and background with features of the bays in each. I’m happy with this and I can finally let it go!

LE GRANDE HARVE

Some days it all comes down to being in the right place at the right time, or, knowing what you want! The clouds looked like they were picking up some colour about an hour before sunset and the wind was blowing an opening in the clouds in the right direction. All I had to do was get into position and wait for some sun to pop through.

COLOURS OF DAWN

21.01.21

For a brief moment this morning, there was a small reminder of why I still do this every day! These sights have been rare in the last few months but I try to make sure I witness as many of them as possible and always aim to improve on the last. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it’s best to move on. Bordeaux is pretty much on my doorstep which is why I’ve spent so much time here over the years. Five minutes after this, the rain rolled in and that was it for the day. Back to the usual British weather.

ONLY THE BRAVE

23.12.20

I take my hat off to all the fishermen out there who brave the treacherous seas in the winter. We take for granted how easy we’ve got it sometimes. The rain behind the boat was really churning up the sea, luckily it was drifting away from them.

Sunday lie in’s don’t happen for me anymore. Simple reason being I’d rather be outdoors. I should have left the house 30 minutes earlier to catch the stunning pink clouds but the snooze button got the better of me.

L'EREE

Took the kids to see Frog Rock for the first time today. Nice to see them enjoying the outdoors again. I want to plant memories of the island in their heads and hopefully enjoy it as much as I do. Had to take a detour past this boat on the coast road. Loving all the Flags and bunting around the island at the moment. Coulnt’t ask to be quarantined anywhere better really.
