The power of the sea is something that has always fascinated me. So powerful and deadly but majestic and mesmerising at the same time.

Half the island’s coastline was swamped in fog for most of the day. I had some ideas but none of them turned out as I planned. This field caught my eye on the drive back from Jerbourg. Might try it again at sunrise in the hope of a nice thin layer of mist on the grass?

Took the kids away for the weekend to get some Herm therapy which was definitely needed. Met up with Mike and Mel on the boat to give us those holiday feels.

Alderney Point located at the very far north of Herm. I love this spot, it always feels like your thousands of miles away from home but with that nostalgic Herm vibe from childhood memories.

A typical summers day as the weather warms up. This shot reminds me of one of the lochs we drove past in Scotland, an eerie but calm and gentle feel to it.

No.3 on my list of favourite south coast beaches. When you finally make it to the viewpoint, it’s kind of a standard Guernsey thing to just stop and have a good look at the beauty of it then head down and find a spot.

A familiar sight for many but how well do you know your Guernsey beaches? Can you guess the location…

A little choppy on the way to work this morning. After the tide went down it was a stunning day, and all was good.

Normally the misty sea spray is my worst enemy when it comes to photography. This was an exception.

If you were to draw a straight line to the nearest land mass in this direction ( I did on Google Earth) you would end up somewhere in Florida over 4000 miles away.

I take my hat off to all the fishermen out there who brave the treacherous seas in the winter. We take for granted how easy we’ve got it sometimes. The rain behind the boat was really churning up the sea, luckily it was drifting away from them.

I take my hat off to any open water swimmer but especially during the autumn and winter months. I know how good you feel when you’ve been in the sea but I’ll just have a sit down shower and pretend it’s tropical rain.

Almost 30 minutes of standing in a whiteout hoping for the smallest clearing down to the beach and then as if someone turned on a switch, the clearing I waited for.
26.06.20
Pushing my luck with the waves on this one but the desired effect and lighting was achieved.

The unstoppable force of nature unleashing its ferocious beauty.

With winter just around the corner, the weather plays a big part in managing this project. The only way I can get through the winter months is to plan a few days in advance with different locations for different weather scenarios. When it all goes wrong, ill have to come up with a plan b, c or d!
