The best thing about autumn weather is the sun stays lower in the sky for longer and the decent golden hour light almost last for nearly an hour.

In the end, a little patience and persistence will get you what you want. Throw in some luck and you may just exceed your expectations!

Stunning colors in the sky shortly after sunset!
I’ve always thought this rocky outcrop looks like two dogs sitting back to back. A Great Dane on the left and a Bulldog on the right?

Fierce swell coming in from the Atlantic over the last few days. This is relatively calm in comparison but I wouldn’t want to be swept away in these conditions.

This is the weather I crave over the summer. Gale force winds, violent seas and that gorgeous autumn light sits lower in the sky lifting the golden ferns on the cliff face.

It’s been a while since I stretched my legs down here. Following the tide as it recedes with the perfect untouched golden sands.

Got up to let the pooch out at 05:15 and the sky was starting to pick up a bit of colour. Mad (but sensible) drive to the coast with minutes to spare before all the clouds moved east.

I could choose to sleep but when you can watch this and listen to the wildlife waking up, it makes it all worth while.

Way up there as one of my top three bays in Guernsey. Definitely worth the long walk down, especially to watch a sunrise.

Really struggled to find any inspiration today and left it all to the last minute before 9pm! The sunset that almost was, but never quite happened.

Always on the lookout for a nice green algae covered rock. The rocks got covered by the tide pretty quick so I had to get low and just gamble with the waves.

The weather has been stunning this week but I wasn’t expecting anything special tonight. That said, chuck on a 10 stop filter and sometimes it just makes an image.

You literally couldn’t make this stuff up. Three days of epic sunsets, I literally had my head fixated on the clouds this evening. The only thing missing was Danni and the kids watching it with me.

Still waiting for that ‘perfect’ seascape shot I’ve been searching for. The skies looked promising for a while then turned a bit bland and most of my inspiration went with it!

Just about as far away as you can get from civilization in Guernsey. I had to be extra cautious not only scrambling down here but also not annoying the seagulls too much. I think this is a prime breeding spot for the birds.

In memory of Judith Kerr, author of one my favourite childhood books ‘Mog’ and sadly my mum and dad’s fourth cat Bubbles who went to cat heaven last night. Ironically Mogs final story sees him also pass away.

This one needs little or no introduction. It was a rushed shot and little effort went in but that’s 1582 days ticked off the list!
