OTHER-WORLDLY

18.10.21

An experience in itself, the etherial light was epic to see but it also presents it’s own challenges when editing. The colours were so intense, picking the right white balance and tones was a ball right ache. It’s one of those where you had to see and be in it to really believe it.

ENJOY THE VIEW

14.10.21

I try to walk as much as possible and this hobby really helps. Some days can be frustrating, others just a bit uninspiring but when you take a moment to appreciate what’s around, you realise it doesn’t really matter. I can at least walk away and know I tried my best. Broke a PB power walking back up to the car!

THE INDUSTRIAL NORTH

30.09.21

Last day of September started in spectacular fashion. In the 6 (nearly 7) years I’ve been doing this, 2021 has been pretty poor for these kind of skies. I still wake up an hour before sunrise every day, check outside and you can normally gauge how it’s going to pan out. The colour started to pick up about 45 minutes before sunrise so it just a matter of patiently waiting for something to happen.

MISTY DAWN

12.09.21

Having carefully planned to head somewhere else this morning, I woke up late and left myself very little time for travel. There’s a field by my house which is always covered with a layer of mist on clear, calm nights so it’s I know whenever there’s mist in the field, it’s very likely the common land will be misty too.

So calm and peaceful when it’s like this!

SKYLINE

02.09.21

Plan A was a complete failure this morning, mostly due to the clouds being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This was Plan B. Plan A will have to wait for the tides in a few weeks. Shame the trees have started to restrict the view. I remember years ago you had a full panoramic view to the Town Church!

HINTS OF SUMMER

18.08.21

I always remember mid August school summer holidays being non stop blue skies, down the beach with mates and cycling around without a care in the world. Summer seems to have faded away in the blink of an eye this year and there’s no signs of an imminent heatwave returning this year. Other than this bust of sun, it’s been another grey and slightly moist one.
