Winter

WAY OUT WEST

13.01.22

I found this view point last year by accident on one of my many tours of the parishes. There’s a bench to the side of the road where you can sit and take in the views.

SHALLOW MIST

11.01.22

I absolutely love L’Ancresse when it’s shrouded by mist. You have to get up to higher ground to really appreciate the view because lower down it was like being in a cloud!

MOULIN HUET

09.01.22

Rain, rain and more rain. There’s a theme occuring this year! When there’s breaks in the cloud, I love the rain because that’s when the magic can happen. When it’s solid grey grey, that sucks.

There wasn't as much strong winter sun as I’d hoped although the shadows and highlights are much easier to control when it’s like this. I did nearly get cut off, five more minutes and I would of had to deal with some sketchy submerged rocks!

GUERNSEY MOODS

07.01.22

Standing my ground, I refuse to let the rain get in the way. This was just after sunrise this morning, armed with an umbrella and a cleaning cloth the rain hammered down over me. Everything just went in reverse and seemed to plunge into darkness.

SHEEPS

05.01.22

It may be a little on the cold side but being out in the sunshine, strolling through the rural lanes felt amazing. It may not mean much to anyone but this picture felt like a turning point. It made me remember why I started this photo marathon which was to capture Guernsey through the seasons in any way possible. No rules, no competition, just enjoying being out with the camera!

TWILIGHT

04.01.22

I usually really enjoy the winter but this year I’m just counting down the days till the summer arrives! It would be nice if they scrapped all the bullshit travel restrictions and just let the visiting yachts fill the harbour once again.

SKY SHADOW

14.12.21

It wasn’t until I uploaded these files I realised that the lights from the front the church grounds were casting a shadow into the sky. Feels a bit like Arkham City!

PETIT BOT

13.12.21

A lone house nestled deep in the valley of Petit Bot. If we ever get a snow day again, this is where I’m heading first. This would look awesome with snow dusted trees and the road should be more visible. Watch this space!

NEW DAWN

09.12.21

Head in the sky at 06:30, there was a strong hint that the sky was going to burst into life. Some days it’s worth travelling the extra few miles to really experience these moments.

Every time I come down here there seems to be less and less pine trees. Either fallen in the wind or cut down at the need of their life. I’ve got a feeling the remaining pine’s won’t be around for too much longer.
