SHEPHERDS WARNING

06.12.21

Believe it or not, there is some scientific understanding to the rhyme, “Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning”!

A quote from he Met Office - "Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning" means a red sky appears due to the high-pressure weather system having already moved east meaning the good weather has passed, most likely making way for a wet and windy low-pressure system.”

WINTER

03.12.21

As the shortest day draws ever closer, there’s still an autumn feel in the air. The last few leaves are hanging on but but its starting to thin out. See you in the spring leaves!

FALLEN TREE

27.02.21

Driving around the coast to get here at 06:30 was almost like a dream. All the fields were white with frost and the air was so crisp. This spot was absolutely stunning and peaceful until some bell end started his chainsaw and began to cut up fallen branches along the path.

LOOPHOLE

11.02.21

Hit snooze, you loose. That’s my motto to myself. I’ve figured, if I focus on the time I go to bed and go straight to sleep, I can control my mind to wake up before my alarm. It’s worked three days in a row. Maybe it’s the anticipation of snow, or maybe I subconsciously repeat my motto in my sleep!

In total I had 8 layers of clothes on this morning (including two pairs of trousers) but that icy wind was a killer. As soon as the colour in the sky faded I was out of there sharp.

ROCKY SHORES

10.02.21

Over the years I’ve learnt to really appreciate our coastline. From the wildlife and and flowers in the spring to the spectacular and violent seas in the winter, nothing clears your head more than getting out and experiencing what’s on our doorstep. That said, my toes and fingers had lost all feeling by the time I took this. Must get thicker gloves and socks!

HAVELET

24.01.21

Braving the elements, umbrella in hand, the opportunity was there. Amazing weather to be out in though! Hail, rain, thunder, sunshine and wind. It’s a constant battle to keep dry and protect your gear but I love to challenge myself each day (some more than others).
